When night falls over Stuttgart, Schlossplatz transforms into a stage of light. This exact moment is captured by the new edition of the "Cities and Landscapes" series. Among the many silver coins of the 2026 vintage, it is one of the rarest. With a mintage of just 100 pieces, it is a true gem for lovers of Baden-Württemberg as well as for collectors of finished coins.

✔ A nighttime panorama in color and gold

At the center of the side bearing the inscription "1 OZ 9999 FINE SILVER 2026", the Jubilee Column rises into the sky. The roughly 32-meter-high monument was built between 1841 and 1846 to mark the 25th anniversary of the reign of King Wilhelm I of Württemberg. At its top stands Concordia, the Roman goddess of harmony. Behind it lies the New Palace with its brightly lit windows. Built between 1746 and 1807, it served as the residence of the Württemberg dukes and kings. On either side, the two Schlossplatz fountains bubble away, and if you look closely, you can even spot the Stuttgart TV Tower on the horizon.

Above it all stretches a sky rarely seen. A radiant full moon. A Milky Way in violet and deep blue. And a glowing band of red and orange marking the transition from evening into night.

The second side brings one of the fountains up close. The figures on the fountain represent Württemberg rivers such as the Neckar, Kocher, Fils, and Enz. The fountains were inaugurated in 1863 on the birthday of King Wilhelm I. In the background, a flag waves in the national colors of black and gold, while the coat of arms of Liberia sits at the bottom edge. To the side is the face value "20 DOLLARS".

✔ Finishing with an eye for detail

What makes this coin especially remarkable is its elaborate finishing. After minting, it is finished in Germany by a specialized company exclusively for Kettner Edelmetalle. In this process, the nighttime design receives its vibrant colors, and the edge is partially gilded, framing the scene like a golden border. Every step requires the utmost precision to ensure that the column, the palace façade, and the starry sky appear crisp and sharp. Note: The manufacturer refers to the coin itself, not to the finishing process.

The coin is issued with a face value of 20 Liberian dollars. The West African republic has for years been a popular issuing country for collector's coins featuring international designs. The piece is delivered in a capsule. It is best left inside, as this protects the Brilliant Uncirculated surface from fingerprints and scratches.

✔ Why this rarity delights collectors

Well-known bullion coins such as the Vienna Philharmonic, the Maple Leaf, the Britannia, or the Krugerrand are minted in the millions every year. They are the first choice when the focus is primarily on the metal. This edition is something entirely different. Due to its strict limitation, each piece rarely appears on the collector's market — especially once all 100 coins have found their owners.

  • Regional connection: A landmark of Baden-Württemberg as a coin design, ideal for Stuttgart residents, Swabians, and anyone attached to their homeland.
  • Artistic appearance: Color and gold give this Brilliant Uncirculated coin a look unlike standard coins.
  • Part of a series: As part of the "Cities and Landscapes" series, this coin is well suited for building a themed collection.
  • Collector's value: The price is determined less by the silver price than by rarity, design, and craftsmanship — exactly what connoisseurs appreciate.

✔ Silver – a precious metal with a long tradition

For centuries, silver served as a monetary metal and a symbol of prosperity in many cultures. Today it is also a sought-after raw material, as electronics, solar technology, and medical technology require it in large quantities. Many investors also value the metal as an inflation hedge and for crisis protection. With this edition, however, the focus is clearly on collecting. A pleasant side effect: profits from the sale of physical silver are generally tax-free in Germany after a holding period of one year.
