Bitcoin 2026, 2 ounces of silver, obverse

Bitcoin’s creator himself took gold as the comparison: in 2008 in the white paper, in 2010 on a forum. Here the Bitcoin sign stands on two ounces of fine silver, in a wooden case and in a mintage of 1,000 pieces.

On the obverse

Four words around the sign

In the centre stands the Bitcoin sign. The arc around it reads DECENTRALIZED • BITCOIN • DIGITAL • PEER TO PEER, below it stand the weight, the metal and BTC, the abbreviation of the unit in the Bitcoin software.

Bitcoin’s early texts use the same words. Satoshi Nakamoto called the system decentralised, with no server and no central authority, when he released the first software in January 2009.

Bitcoin’s white paper of 2008 describes an electronic coin as a chain of digital signatures. Peer-to-peer, from participant to participant, is already in its title.

The comparison with gold miners

The Bitcoin white paper, announced on 31 October 2008, compares the steady addition of new coins with gold miners:

“… analogous to gold miners expending resources to add gold to circulation. In our case, it is CPU time and electricity that is expended.”

Bitcoin white paper, section 6, “Incentive”

The same section explains why new coins come about this way: there is no central authority that issues them. The World Gold Council calls gold “no one’s liability”: it is not a promise that someone else has to keep.

3 January 2009

A newspaper line in the first block

Bitcoin writes its entries into blocks that form a chain. The first block holds a line from a newspaper:

“The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks”

First block of the Bitcoin chain, in the source code of Bitcoin Core

A forum post, 2010

As scarce as gold

On 27 August 2010, Satoshi Nakamoto posted a thought experiment on a forum, with gold as the measure of scarcity:

“As a thought experiment, imagine there was a base metal as scarce as gold …”

Satoshi Nakamoto, bitcointalk.org forum, 27 August 2010

By “scarce” he only means a limited potential supply, as he explains in the post.

He had named the supply of Bitcoin in 2009: 21 million coins in total. The smallest unit is called a satoshi, one hundred-millionth of a bitcoin.

The World Gold Council describes gold itself as scarce. The mintage of this piece is fixed: 1,000 pieces.

A medal in copper

Bullion, not bits

One medal in our range bears BULLION NOT BITS above a pair of scales. Bullion means gold or silver in bars, a bit is the smallest unit of information in a computer: bars, not bits.

Or, as we put it:

Gold is the real crypto.

Crypto comes from the Greek kryptós, meaning hidden.

In both quoted passages, gold is the comparison: for the effort of the gold miners and for the measure of scarcity. This piece brings the sign into metal that you hold in your hand.

There are coins you buy. And there are coins you must own. The 2 oz Silver Bitcoin 2026 unquestionably belongs to the second category. Here, arguably the most significant technological innovation of the 21st century – the blockchain – merges with humanity's oldest store of value: silver. The result? A collector's piece without equal.

A Design That Makes History

At first glance at the obverse of this impressive silver coin, it becomes clear: nothing was left to chance here. The central Bitcoin "B" with its characteristic vertical strokes dominates the coin's face in breathtaking high-gloss polish. It reflects light as if the digital currency itself were coming to life. Surrounding it extends a delicate circuit board design – traces, chip symbols, electronic components – all in a satin matte finish that creates a fascinating contrast to the mirrored surface of the Bitcoin logo.

The inscriptions "BITCOIN • DIGITAL • PEER TO PEER" along the upper edge, as well as "DECENTRALIZED" on the left side and "BTC" at the lower right, complete the picture. Along the lower edge, the inscription "2 OZ 9999 FINESILVER" confirms the precious material value of this extraordinary coin.

The reverse is every bit as impressive as the obverse. A square chip component featuring the Bitcoin logo forms the centre, embedded in another, even more detailed circuit pattern. The face value of 25 Dollars and the inscription "REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA" along with the national coat of arms lend the coin its official character. Even the year 2026 integrates harmoniously into the circuit board design.

Proof – Perfection in Every Detail

The Proof minting quality is the supreme discipline of coin minting. Each individual piece is produced using specially polished dies on mirror-polished blanks – and this is done multiple times to achieve the incomparable depth of field and characteristic mirror finish. With this Bitcoin coin, this is particularly impressive: the contrast between the mirrored Bitcoin symbol and the matte circuit board background creates an almost three-dimensional effect that is not easily forgotten.

Exclusivity You Can Feel

With a very low mintage of just 1,000 pieces worldwide, this coin is a genuine rarity. For comparison: common bullion coins such as the Maple Leaf or the Vienna Philharmonic are minted in the millions. Here we are talking about one thousand pieces. No more. Once they are sold out, there will be no re-minting – which makes the appreciation potential particularly interesting for collectors.

Those who appreciate the connection between digital innovation and physical precious metal hold a piece of contemporary history in their hands with this coin.

Elegant Presentation Included

The coin is not simply delivered in a plastic capsule. No – it rests in a high-quality wooden case with a velvet-black interior lining that gives it the setting it deserves. Included is an official certificate of authenticity from Kettner Edelmetalle, documenting origin, fineness and mintage. A complete package that makes an excellent impression both as a collector's piece in your own safe and as an extraordinary gift.

Silver – The Underestimated Store of Value

While gold often takes centre stage, silver offers its own distinct advantages that astute collectors and investors have long recognised:

  1. Industrial demand: Silver is indispensable in electronics, solar technology and medicine – with a growing trend.
  2. Limited availability: Natural reserves are finite, which speaks in favour of long-term value stability.
  3. Tax advantage: Gains from the sale of silver are generally tax-free after a holding period of at least one year.
  4. Historical significance: For thousands of years, silver has served as a monetary metal, medium of trade and symbol of prosperity.
  5. Affordable entry point: Compared to gold, silver is often more accessible – without sacrificing intrinsic value.

Silver also serves as a proven inflation hedge and a reliable crisis protection – qualities that are particularly valued in uncertain times. Yet with this limited collector's coin, one thing above all stands in the foreground: the fascination of collecting and the joy of owning a truly unique piece.
