  • Strictly limited: A tiny edition of only 100 pieces worldwide – once sold out, there will be no reissue of this finish
  • Growth opportunities: Very high value appreciation potential thanks to the scarce mintage and the unbroken popularity of cat and Halloween motifs
  • Rarity: An extremely rare collector's coin that will be found in hardly any display case
  • Investment goal: A coveted collector's item whose strict limitation opens up considerable long-term potential for value growth
  • Design: Black kittens with amber eyes frolic among glowing pumpkin lanterns – against a backdrop of a full moon, bats and an enchanted castle by the lake
  • Exclusive: You can only obtain this extraordinary collector's piece at Kettner Edelmetalle
  • High-quality finish: Specially designed for you using several technical processes – vibrant coloring on both sides and a gold-shimmering edge
  • Material / fineness: 1 ounce (31.1 grams) of silver with a fineness of 999.9/1,000 – coin metal is rarely processed in a purer form
  • Manufacturer: Kettner Edelmetalle – the coin was additionally finished afterwards in Germany
  • Country of origin: Germany; the official issuing country, with a face value of 20 dollars, is the Republic of Liberia

One kitten, one pumpkin, one full moon night. That's all it takes. The 1 oz Silver Halloween Baby Cat 2026 shows the cozy, almost fairy-tale side of Halloween – instead of grim, scary faces, playful charm awaits you. Two sides, three kittens, four pumpkins: whoever holds this coin in their hand almost believes they can catch the scent of autumn leaves and candle wax.

✔ The obverse: A kitten perched on the pumpkin lantern

At the center sits a small black kitten on a Jack-O'-Lantern, its carved grin glowing warmly from within. One paw is raised cheekily, as if to greet the viewer. Above it, an enormous, golden-yellow full moon hangs in the deep blue starry sky, with two bats tracing their paths. In the background, the lights of a village and an illuminated castle are reflected in the lake, while red-orange maple leaves bring autumn into the picture on the left. Along the lower edge runs the inscription "1 OZ 9999 FINE SILVER 2026".

✔ The reverse: Playtime in the moonlight

The reverse is livelier. A kitten has stood up on its hind legs, reaching for a fluttering maple leaf. Its sibling peeks curiously over the edge of a large pumpkin. Beside them, two more lanterns glow – one with starry eyes, a small one with a friendly smile. The backdrop of moon, lake and castle picks up on the obverse, so that both sides feel like two scenes from the same story. On the right edge is the face value "20 DOLLARS", while the coat of arms of the Republic of Liberia sits discreetly at the bottom.

✔ A legend in which a coin plays the leading role

The glowing pumpkin lantern has an astonishing origin. According to an old Irish legend, the blacksmith "Stingy Jack" outwitted the devil: the devil transformed into a coin to pay for one last drink – and Jack promptly locked him inside his purse, which contained a silver cross. Later, Jack wandered through the darkness with a glowing coal inside a hollowed-out turnip. Irish emigrants brought the custom to America in the 19th century, where the pumpkin replaced the turnip. The fact that a coin and silver of all things appear in this legend makes the design a wonderfully wink-worthy theme for numismatists. And the black cat? For centuries, folk belief has held it to be a companion of witches, and it belongs to Halloween just as the moon belongs to the night.

✔ Finishing with an eye for detail

What makes this edition so special is its elaborate design. Both sides are fully colored, in rich blue, violet and orange tones. The partially gold-plated edge encloses the scenery like a golden picture frame, and the reeded edge design provides a pleasant feel. Each piece is finished in Germany with great precision and reaches you in Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) condition, safely protected in a coin capsule. The manufacturer refers to the coin, not to the finishing.

"A hundred pieces, three kittens, one full moon night – some collector's items tell their story without a single word."

✔ Micro-mintage instead of mass production – an honest comparison

Classic bullion coins such as the Maple Leaf, Britannia or the Perth Mint's Koala are issued in enormous quantities. Their advantage: their price is close to the pure metal value. Their disadvantage from a collector's point of view: they are practically available everywhere. Something similar applies to silver bars – ideal for pure metal acquisition, but without a design and without a story. With the Halloween Baby Cat, it's exactly the opposite. A mintage of just 100 pieces is a very low mintage even among finished special editions. The surcharge for coloring, gold plating and rarity is offset here by the design, craftsmanship and strict limitation.

Anyone who loves Halloween designs will also find the perfect counterpart in the Halloween Witch 2026, likewise limited to 100 pieces. Naturally, no binding performance can be promised – but experience shows that strictly limited editions with an emotional design are particularly sought after among collectors.

✔ Who this edition is worth it for

Cat lovers. Halloween fans. And anyone who wants to add a piece with real recognition value to their collection. As a gift for autumn, for a birthday, or simply for yourself, the coin is an eye-catcher that immediately sparks conversation. Within the Symbolism series, it stands for luck, mystery and the magic of the dark season. However, anyone wishing to buy it shouldn't deliberate too long, given there are only 100 pieces.

✔ Silver – the ideal foundation for collector's items

At 999.9/1,000, this edition is among the purest silver coins of all. The white precious metal has been valued as a coin metal and store of value for thousands of years, is durable, and retains its physical properties over generations. Demand from electronics, solar and medical technology underscores its intrinsic value, while supply remains limited. In Germany, profits from the sale of physical silver are generally tax-free after a holding period of at least one year. Even though the joy of collecting clearly takes center stage with this rarity, you are, in a sense, also placing the traditional inflation hedge and crisis protection that physical precious metal is known for right into the capsule.
