What the stamp says
We read one of the five bars on the photograph.
999,9 means: of 1,000 parts, 999.9 are pure silver. Whether the number on the bar has a comma or a point, it is the same fineness.
The round medallion shows the figure of a caster, as the house calls it, above the year 1845. Where gold reads “melter assayer”, silver bears the field “MADE IN GERMANY”.

The chronicle of the house
- 1845
Julius Dittler founds a sweepings works, a “Kehretsanstalt”, in Pforzheim to recover precious metal from production waste on behalf of his customers.
- 1945
In the war the company building is destroyed, according to the house on 23 February. The house finds new premises at the jewellery and watch factory Knoll + Pregitzer.
- 1977
The house leaves the town centre and moves into premises in the Brötzinger Tal industrial area.
- 2010
The house introduces its investment products division.
