The kilo bar comes in black packaging with the HM Precious Metals logo, the island’s coat of arms and the face value of 25 dollars. It names SEMPSA as the producer. Like Heimerle + Meule, the Madrid refinery belongs to HM Precious Metals, and it is on the LBMA Good Delivery List for silver.

  • Investment objective: Anyone wishing to defend their purchasing power against the creeping devaluation of money will find an extremely effective tool in silver bars, and especially in minted bars made of silver.
  • Value preservation: silver minted bars are a proven store of value. They preserve the real substance of your wealth and open up additional value appreciation potential over the long term.
  • Hedging: Rising prices, looming recession, record government debt – it is precisely in such phases that physical precious metal gives your savings a firm foothold.
  • Fine weight: 1,000 grams of fine silver with a fineness of 999.9/1,000, minted in Brilliant Uncirculated quality.
  • Coin status: official face value of 25 dollars, issued for Ascension Island, year of issue 2026.

One kilogram of fine silver under full sail

This minted bar combines two worlds. On the one side stands the tangible weight of exactly one kilogram of pure silver, on the other a design that awakens wanderlust. Produced by Heimerle + Meule of Pforzheim, the 1 kg Ascension Island minted bar is a solid foundation for your personal inflation hedge. And it looks really good doing it.

Ascension Island lies in the middle of the South Atlantic and belongs to the British Overseas Territory of Saint Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha. The volcanic island owes its name to Ascension Day in the year 1503, on which it was first sighted. Seafaring and the ocean have shaped its history to this day – so it is no surprise that a sailing ship takes the leading role.

Obverse: A sailing ship on the high seas

At the center of the obverse, a proud three-master ploughs through the waves with billowing sails. Clouds drift across the sky, a seabird glides over the water, and rugged coastal cliffs rise on either side. Above is the face value "25 DOLLARS", below the inscription "1000 g Fine Silver 999.9". At the bottom right is the hallmark of SEMPSA (Sociedad Española de Metales Preciosos).

Reverse: The coat of arms of Ascension Island

The reverse is dedicated to the island's coat of arms, which appears no fewer than ten times – five times each along the top and bottom edges. Granted in 2012, the coat of arms depicts Green Mountain, three seabirds, and as shield-bearers two green sea turtles, the island's emblem. In the center is the portrait of King Charles III, framed by the inscription "KING CHARLES III · ASCENSION ISLAND" and the year of issue 2026.

Why silver protects your wealth against inflation

Paper money lives on trust in governments and central banks. Silver, by contrast, possesses an intrinsic value rooted in its physical properties. For thousands of years it has served as a monetary metal, a medium of exchange, and a symbol of prosperity – long before the first banknote existed. When currencies lose purchasing power, the white metal is therefore traditionally regarded as a reliable anchor.

Industrial demand adds to this picture. Electronics, photovoltaics, and medical technology require large quantities of silver, and new technologies are driving demand even further. This stands in contrast to a limited supply. This combination supports the long-term value stability of a commodity that is traded worldwide and, thanks to its high liquidity, can easily be converted back into cash. Compared to gold, silver is also considerably more affordable – a real advantage for private investors.

Physical silver is also convincing from a tax perspective: under current German law, profits from the sale of silver are tax-free provided a holding period of at least one year has been observed. As a building block for your crisis protection, silver also provides sensible diversification of your wealth. And because the metal retains its properties over generations, it is excellently suited for retirement provision or as a legacy for children and grandchildren.

Minted bars: bar form with coin status

Bars that bear a coin stamp are called minted bars. At first glance, these angular coins look like classic bars, but it is only the stamped face value that gives them the status of a coin in Germany. In the issuing country, they are official legal tender. The actual value is, of course, determined by the silver they contain – the face value of 25 dollars is primarily symbolic in nature.

In comparison: where the Ascension Island minted bar scores

  • Compared to cast CombiBars: same fine weight, plus coin status, Brilliant Uncirculated finish, and a richly detailed design that also appeals to collectors. In return, the premium is usually somewhat higher than for a plain standard bar.
  • Compared to round 1 kg coins such as the Kookaburra, Koala, or the Perth Mint's Lunar issues: the rectangular shape allows for space-saving stacking and secure storage.
  • Compared to ounce coins such as the Maple Leaf or Vienna Philharmonic: one kilogram in a single piece noticeably lowers the minting cost per gram. Anyone wishing to stay flexible can combine it with smaller denominations from the Ascension Island sailing ship series.

Quality from the house of Heimerle + Meule

Heimerle + Meule was founded in 1845 in Pforzheim, is one of Germany's most traditional precious metal refineries, and now operates under the name HM Precious Metals. The group also includes the Spanish company SEMPSA, founded in Madrid in 1920 and part of the Pforzheim group since 2013. The refinery is listed on the LBMA's Good Delivery List for silver. Worldwide, this is regarded as proof of quality that builds trust.

One kilogram of silver, one sailing ship, one clear goal: to bring your wealth safely through stormy times.

The minted bar is delivered shrink-wrapped. This keeps the Brilliant Uncirculated finish protected and makes the piece ideal for long-term storage. Whether as the foundation of your silver reserve or as an addition to existing holdings: with this minted bar you are putting your trust in a precious metal that has already outlasted countless paper currencies.
