✔ Spannendes zu dem Edaphosaurus 

Auf der Vorderseite dieser Goldmünze ist das Skelett von einem Edaphosaurus abgebildet. Der Edaphosaurus gehörte zur Gattung der bereits ausgestorbenen Pelycosaurier.  Er lebte vor ungefähr 310 bis 280 Millionen Jahren in Nordamerika und Europa. 

Der Edaphosaurus war ein Pflanzenfresser und ähnelte in seinem Aussehen stark einem Waran oder Leguan. Er konnte eine Länge von bis zu 3,2 Meter erreichen und bis zu 300 Kilogramm auf die Waage bringen. Sein Kopf war im Verhältnis zu dem Rest seines Körpers sehr klein.,
