Molten gold flows from the crucible into an ingot mould

Heimerle + Meule · Pforzheim

Gold from the Golden City.

It began with the dust of the workshops.

Jewellery has been made in Pforzheim since the 18th century. Wherever there is filing, sawing and polishing, precious metal falls to the floor as fine dust and ends up in the sweepings.

The entrepreneur Julius Dittler founds a sweepings works, a “Kehretsanstalt”, to recover precious metal from production waste.

1845

This is the year the story of Heimerle + Meule begins. To this day, the date appears in the mark of the house.

Inside the works

From scrap to bar.

  1. Old silver, coins and pieces of jewellery slide from a shovel into a glowing crucible

    The scrap

Jewellery, coins, cutlery, dental gold and industrial residues: from these, the house recovers precious metal today.

  2. A melter pours molten metal from the crucible, sparks flying

    The pour

Gold melts at 1,064 degrees Celsius, silver at 962 degrees. The melter pours the molten metal from the crucible into the mould.

  3. Gold and silver bars by Heimerle + Meule on slate

    The bar

At the end comes the finished bar, bearing its weight and fineness. According to the company, the fine metals used are produced in its own refinery.

A house that carries on.

  1. 1945

    In ruins

On 23 February an air raid destroys Pforzheim’s town centre. The company’s building is also lost in the war. Afterwards, it makes a fresh start in the premises of a jewellery and watch factory.

  2. 1977

    The Brötzinger Tal

The company moves out of the town centre to the Brötzinger Tal, a valley that had been filled in after the war, partly with the rubble of the old town. Its headquarters have been there ever since.

  3. 2010

    Bars for investors

Heimerle + Meule launches its investment products division. Today, bars, boxes and cards for investors are part of its range.

  4. 2014

    Good Delivery

On 3 June the London Bullion Market Association admits the company to its Good Delivery List, the register of recognised gold refiners. It has remained on the list since that day.

10 x 1/100 oz Gold Bar Heimerle und Meule (Kettner Edelmetalle)

Kettner Edelmetalle Edition

Bars by Heimerle + Meule.

The bars in this edition bear the mark of Heimerle + Meule, and our name is on the packaging.

On the bar

What the marks say.

999.9
The fineness in parts per thousand: out of 1,000 parts, 999.9 are pure gold.
1845
The caster. Since 1933 he has been the emblem of the house. In the round stamp, he stands above the year 1845.
melter assayer
The one who melts the metal and the one who tests it. Next to these words stands the mark of the house.
HEIMERLE + MEULE
The company has borne this name since the second half of the 19th century.

From dust came a name.

Made to last.

The idea of the sweepings works lives on, too: recovering and refining precious metal has been the heart of the house since its founding.

10 x 1/100 oz Gold Bars Heimerle + Meule: Ten Fine Gold Reserves for the Next Crisis

  • Investment objective: With gold bars you protect your wealth exceptionally effectively against the creeping devaluation of money.
  • Preservation of value: These bars are a flawless store of value that preserves the real substance of your savings and holds it over the years.
  • Hedging: In phases of inflation, recession and runaway government debt, you noticeably cushion your wealth with gold.
  • Investment objective as a double pack: With silver bars too, capital can be shielded extremely effectively against rising prices.

Ten bars, ten cards, ten independent gold units: this bundle contains 10x 1/100 oz gold bars Heimerle and Meule (Kettner Edelmetalle) each with around 0.31 grams of fine gold. Together that is approximately 3.1 grams of fine gold at a fineness of 999.9 – but not in one piece, rather in ten portions. This is precisely the appeal for anyone seriously looking to build crisis protection.

Why Small Denominations Are the Core of Every Crisis Provision

When push comes to shove, divisibility counts. A large bar is hard to "break." Ten tiny bars, on the other hand, give you flexibility. Small denominations in gold and silver have been considered the most popular products for various emergency situations for decades – at home just as much as abroad. They can easily be carried in your wallet while traveling without attracting attention, and if in doubt, they serve as a means of exchange that requires no explanation.

  • Stay capable of acting: You only give away what you actually need – not your entire reserve.
  • Discreet and mobile: Each card is credit-card sized and disappears inconspicuously into your wallet.
  • Distributable: Ten units can be split across several hiding places, people, or locations – security through diversification.
  • Easy to pass on: Individual bars are ideal as a gift for children, grandchildren, or godchildren.

Protection Against Various Crises – Proven for 6,000 Years

Gold is humanity's oldest currency and has outlived every paper currency that ever tried to compete with it. It has an inherent, intrinsic value, is recognized worldwide, and has never had a value of zero. The fact that the world's largest gold holders are central banks speaks volumes: they evidently distrust their own product, fiat money. Physical gold offers protection against political and economic crises, remains liquid, and can be converted back into cash at any time – anyone wishing to sell individual bars later will find a worldwide market for LBMA-certified goods from Germany.

Inflation Protection: Preserve Purchasing Power Instead of Losing It

Printed money can be multiplied at will, gold cannot. The limited supply is the real reason for its long-term value stability – and the core idea behind inflation hedge. While the printing press dilutes the purchasing power of your savings, fine gold preserves its substance. The value of this bundle is determined primarily by the gold it contains and moves in line with the gold price. After the one-year holding period, profits from the sale of physical gold are generally tax-free for private individuals in Germany; investment gold is also exempt from VAT in Germany. Two arguments that further support value preservation.

Gold is the oldest currency in the world – it has been shining for thousands of years and will never lose its shine.

Heimerle + Meule: Germany's Oldest Refinery

The bars are minted by Heimerle + Meule in Pforzheim, founded in 1845 and thus Germany's oldest gold and silver refinery. The company belongs to the Lübeck-based Possehl Group and has had its gold bars on the London Bullion Market Association's Good Delivery List since June 3, 2014. This LBMA accreditation is the reason why goods from Pforzheim can be traded worldwide without complication. Each minted bar bears the markings 1/100 oz, FINE GOLD and 999.9, along with the classic smelter emblem featuring the year 1845, the "melter assayer" hallmark, and the manufacturer's name HEIMERLE+MEULE.

Comparison: Bundle or Individual Bars, 1/100 Oz or Grams?

Compared to a single 1/100 oz bar, the bundle shows its strength in quantity: you build up your reserve to ten units in one step instead of reordering ten times. Compared to larger denominations – such as 1 gram, 5 grams, or the classic troy ounce bar – the percentage premium on miniature bars is naturally higher. In return, you get maximum divisibility, which often carries more weight in crisis provisioning than the pure material price. Anyone wanting both can later combine this bundle with a larger bar or supplement it with gold coins and silver coins in small denominations.

Securely Packaged: RFID-Blocking Card in Credit-Card Format

Each bar sits securely mounted in a black-and-gold RFID-blocking card from Kettner Edelmetalle, bearing the motto "Real money, for 6,000 years." The card protects the gold from scratches and fingerprints, allows for flat, stackable storage, and simultaneously blocks unwanted reading of radio chips in your wallet. Delivery is discreet and via insured value shipping.

The bottom line: ten times fine gold made in Germany, ten times flexibility – a solid building block for crisis provisioning, wealth protection, and passing wealth on to the next generation.
