Heimerle + Meule · Pforzheim
Gold from the Golden City.
It began with the dust of the workshops.
Jewellery has been made in Pforzheim since the 18th century. Wherever there is filing, sawing and polishing, precious metal falls to the floor as fine dust and ends up in the sweepings.
The entrepreneur Julius Dittler founds a sweepings works, a “Kehretsanstalt”, to recover precious metal from production waste.
1845
This is the year the story of Heimerle + Meule begins. To this day, the date appears in the mark of the house.
Inside the works
From scrap to bar.

The scrap
Jewellery, coins, cutlery, dental gold and industrial residues: from these, the house recovers precious metal today.

The pour
Gold melts at 1,064 degrees Celsius, silver at 962 degrees. The melter pours the molten metal from the crucible into the mould.

The bar
At the end comes the finished bar, bearing its weight and fineness. According to the company, the fine metals used are produced in its own refinery.
A house that carries on.

1945
In ruins
On 23 February an air raid destroys Pforzheim’s town centre. The company’s building is also lost in the war. Afterwards, it makes a fresh start in the premises of a jewellery and watch factory.
1977
The Brötzinger Tal
The company moves out of the town centre to the Brötzinger Tal, a valley that had been filled in after the war, partly with the rubble of the old town. Its headquarters have been there ever since.
2010
Bars for investors
Heimerle + Meule launches its investment products division. Today, bars, boxes and cards for investors are part of its range.
2014
Good Delivery
On 3 June the London Bullion Market Association admits the company to its Good Delivery List, the register of recognised gold refiners. It has remained on the list since that day.

Kettner Edelmetalle Edition
Bars by Heimerle + Meule.
The bars in this edition bear the mark of Heimerle + Meule, and our name is on the packaging.
On the bar
What the marks say.
- 999.9
- The fineness in parts per thousand: out of 1,000 parts, 999.9 are pure gold.
- 1845
- The caster. Since 1933 he has been the emblem of the house. In the round stamp, he stands above the year 1845.
- melter assayer
- The one who melts the metal and the one who tests it. Next to these words stands the mark of the house.
- HEIMERLE + MEULE
- The company has borne this name since the second half of the 19th century.
From dust came a name.
Made to last.
The idea of the sweepings works lives on, too: recovering and refining precious metal has been the heart of the house since its founding.

100 x 1/200 oz Gold Bars Heimerle und Meule: Your Small Change for the Next Crisis
- Investment objective: With gold bars you protect your wealth extremely effectively against inflation.
- Value preservation: Gold bars are an impeccable store of value that preserves and grows the true substance of your wealth.
- Hedging: Especially amid rising prices, economic setbacks and spiraling government debt, gold gives you a solid foundation.
- Crisis preparedness: 100 individually sealed units provide exactly the fine division that counts in an emergency.
- Diversification: Anyone who also stores silver bars broadens their wealth even further against currency devaluation.
A hundred bars, a hundred possibilities. This investor package bundles 100 x 1/200 oz gold bars Heimerle und Meule – each bar set into a sturdy credit-card-format card featuring the Kettner Edelmetalle design and the motto "Real money, for 6,000 years." Together, this amounts to 16 g fine weight in 999.9 fine gold, spread across 100 individually tradable pieces. This is exactly where the appeal lies: not a single large lump of metal, but an entire bundle of small denominations that you can use, gift, or exchange piece by piece.
Crisis Protection First – The Ability to Act When It Matters
Anyone thinking about provisioning first considers exactly this question: What do I pay with if cards don't work, banking channels are blocked, or a currency loses its credibility? A package for crisis protection provides the answer. Gold has been a globally recognized medium of exchange for millennia, and because a single card bar weighs only a fraction of an ounce, it can also settle a modest purchase without any need for change at all.
- Protection against various crises: currency devaluation, monetary reform, power outages, political unrest – physical precious metal remains tangible and works offline.
- Discreet on the go: the cards fit easily into a wallet for travel without attracting attention.
- Popular products for various emergency situations – at home, on the road, or abroad.
- Divisibility: 100 units instead of one bar mean 100 opportunities to hand over only as much as is truly necessary.
- Securely stored: sealed card with serial number, Brilliant Uncirculated new stock, immediately verifiable.
Inflation Hedge Backed by Substance, Not Promises
Fiat money is printed. Gold has to be found, mined, and refined. This difference is the core of inflation hedging: the supply of gold is scarce and limited, while the supply of paper money is not. Gold has never had a value of zero because it possesses intrinsic value – an argument that already held true in ancient Egypt, where gold served as a unit of trade, and that extends via the Silk Road all the way to the era of the gold standard. To this day, central banks are the largest holders of gold in the world – a telling signal about how much trust they place in their own product.
The tax treatment in Germany further supports value preservation across generations: investment gold is exempt from VAT, and profits from its sale are generally tax-free after a minimum holding period of one year. Added to this is high liquidity – gold can be converted back into cash worldwide, and small units are especially easy to sell.
Heimerle + Meule: Pforzheim Precision Since 1845
The bars come from Germany's oldest gold and silver refinery. Heimerle + Meule was founded in 1845 in the "Gold City" of Pforzheim and is listed on the LBMA's Good Delivery List for gold – the strictest reference in international precious metals trading. Despite the tiny format, each bar clearly bears all essential markings:
- Weight designation "1/200 oz" and fineness "FINE GOLD 999.9"
- Company logo with the year 1845 as well as the melter-and-assayer stamp
- HEIMERLE+MEULE lettering as proof of origin
- Precious metal: gold, 999.9 fine gold – total fine weight 16 g, gross weight 16.02 g
- Condition: Brilliant Uncirculated, new stock; packaging, years of issue and diameter may vary
Note on Condition
All cards arrive as new stock in Brilliant Uncirculated condition – exactly as already explained for the individual items. Historical coins are subject to entirely different grading standards; here you receive brand-new, sealed goods from current production.
Comparison: Card Bars, Gram Bars, and Small Coins
Compared to a 1-gram bar, the 1/200 oz bar is an even finer unit. The outlay per piece remains very small, though the typical premium on such minuscule weights is naturally higher than for larger bars. Anyone wanting to bundle the maximum amount of metal opts for the ounce bar; anyone wanting maximum divisibility chooses this bundle instead. A CombiBar can be broken apart, but the individual pieces lose their packaging and certificate – here, every unit remains individually sealed and thus clearly identifiable at all times. And compared to silver, the bigger brother scores with compactness: 16 g of gold replaces an entire box of silver coins and fits into a shirt pocket.
Gold is humanity's oldest currency. It has outlived every paper currency that followed it – and it still shines.
Who This Bundle Is Suited For
Investors use this package to convert a larger sum into manageable units of value in a planned way. Collectors appreciate the clean minting and the unusual card format, which also makes a fine small gift. And those preparing for emergencies get exactly what they're looking for: many small, secure units of real money that can sit in a safe or travel discreetly. Shipping is carried out as insured value shipping, discreetly packaged and insured – so your gold arrives safely.
