Heimerle + Meule

A house from Pforzheim

Recovering and refining precious metal has been at the heart of the house since its founding. Today it recovers gold and silver from jewellery, coins, dental gold alloys, silverware and silver-plated cutlery, as well as from industrial residues.

Chronicle

The chronicle of the house

  1. 1845

Julius Dittler founds a sweepings works, a “Kehretsanstalt”, in Pforzheim to recover precious metal from production waste on behalf of his customers.

  2. 1945

In the war the company building is destroyed, according to the house on 23 February. The house finds new premises at the jewellery and watch factory Knoll + Pregitzer.

  3. 1977

The house leaves the town centre and moves into premises in the Brötzinger Tal industrial area.

  4. 2010

The house introduces its investment products division.

  5. 2014

LBMA

What the London list means

The LBMA’s Good Delivery List names the refiners whose bars may be delivered into the London market.

It refers to large bars: for gold between 350 and 430 fine ounces, about 10.9 to 13.4 kilograms. Smaller bars do not count in London wholesale trading, so a bar of 10 g is not a Good Delivery bar.

The print “LBMA Good Delivery Refiner” on the packaging therefore refers to the house, not to the individual bar.

Produced by Germany's oldest gold and silver refinery, this bar combines the highest quality standards with the security of an LBMA-certified product.

Tradition from Pforzheim since 1845

The history of Heimerle und Meule begins in 1845 in Pforzheim – Germany's legendary "Golden City." Over 180 years of experience in precious metal processing speak for themselves. The company has survived wars, currency reforms, and economic upheavals. Just like gold itself.

The bar is presented in an elegant transparent protective capsule, embedded in a high-quality display with the characteristic wave pattern on a black background. The Kettner Edelmetalle logo adorns the upper edge, while the Heimerle + Meule emblem at the bottom guarantees authenticity.

The technical specifications of this bar are convincing across the board:

  1. Fine weight: Exactly 10 grams of purest gold
  2. Fineness: 999.9/1,000 – highest purity for maximum inflation hedge
  3. Dimensions: 27.0 x 15.0 x 1.4 mm – handy and discreet

The Design in Detail

The obverse of the bar shows the clear inscription "10 g FINE GOLD 999.9" as well as the historic company logo with the year 1845. The LBMA seal "melter assayer" guarantees compliance with international quality standards. The warm, golden-yellow shine of the fine gold captures light in a way that has fascinated people for thousands of years.

On the reverse, you will find an artistic pattern of repeating company logos – an additional security feature and at the same time an aesthetic highlight. On the card, the signature of CEO Georg Steiner as well as the note "Fine Gold 999.9 | Guaranteed purity" underscore its authenticity.

"Gold is the money of kings, silver is the money of gentlemen, barter is the money of farmers – but debt is the money of slaves."

Why This Particular Bar as an Inflation Hedge?

The 10-gram denomination offers a perfect balance between value density and flexibility. Unlike larger bars, this unit can be more easily sold when needed or used as crisis protection. At the same time, you benefit from a lower premium per gram compared to smaller denominations such as 1g or 5g bars.

Gold is exempt from VAT – a decisive advantage over other precious metals. In addition, profits from the sale are completely tax-free after a holding period of at least one year. This makes this bar a tax-attractive building block for your long-term wealth protection.
