Polar Bear Magic in Pure Fine Gold
- Investment goal: With gold bars, you effectively shield your savings against the creeping devaluation of money.
- Value preservation: As a proven store of value, gold preserves the real purchasing power of your wealth, no matter how much paper money is currently being printed.
- Hedging: Rising prices, recession, record government debt? It is precisely then that physical precious metal shows its strength and provides solid protection for your wealth.
- Crisis protection: Small units like this 5g gold bar can be used flexibly as a means of exchange or payment in an emergency.
Christmas atmosphere, northern lights, snow, and right in the middle of it all a family of polar bears. Hardly any advertising motif has engraved itself so deeply into the collective memory as the Coca-Cola polar bears. The Swiss precious metals manufacturer PAMP is now bringing this classic to a minted 5 gram gold bar with a fineness of 999.9/1,000. The result is an officially licensed collector's item that is at the same time a fully-fledged investment product, offering you reliable inflation hedge in a handy format.
The design: a polar bear family under a starry sky
On the obverse, two polar bears sit snuggled closely together in the snow, their backs turned toward the viewer. A shared scarf bearing the flowing Coca-Cola lettering holds them together. In their paws, each of them holds the typical Coca-Cola glass bottle with its unmistakable contour shape. On the left, a young polar bear looks up curiously at the pair. Above them are a crescent moon and a sky full of stars. The minting is so fine that the fur, scarf, and bottles stand out with astonishing depth.
The reverse bears the mint mark of PAMP: the well-known logo, the inscriptions SUISSE, 5G FINE GOLD and 999.9, the ESSAYEUR FONDEUR hallmark, as well as an individual serial number. Arranged around the central field are small pairs of polar bears, snowflakes, and two round Coca-Cola logos. In addition, there is the year 2026 and the notation ©The Coca-Cola Company.
From print advertisement to Christmas icon
As early as 1922, a polar bear appeared in a French Coca-Cola advertisement. However, the animals only became truly famous in 1993: as part of the "Always Coca-Cola" campaign, the animated commercial "Northern Lights" aired, in which polar bears together marvel at the aurora. Since then, the Polar Bears have been as much a part of the Christmas season as gingerbread and fairy lights. PAMP has already issued the Holiday Polar Bears designs as 5 gram gold bars in previous years; these editions were limited to 5,000 and 10,000 pieces respectively.
Securely packaged in PAMP's blister card
The bar is housed in a colourful, sealed blister card. On the front, the polar bears are depicted against a glowing northern light, while the back serves as a certificate of authenticity. There you will find:
- the certificate number, matching the serial number on the bar
- the mintage according to the card: 12,500 pieces
- fineness Au 999.9 and weight 5 g
- the signature of the certified assayer
- the note confirming it is an official Coca-Cola licensed product
Our tip: leave the blister sealed. This preserves the Brilliant Uncirculated condition, and in the event of a later sale, authenticity can be verified immediately.
An inflation hedge that fits in any hand
Gold is humanity's oldest currency. In ancient Egypt it served as a measure for trade, later it carried goods along the Silk Road, and well into the 20th century the gold standard underpinned entire currency systems. For over 6,000 years, the metal has retained its shine unchanged, while countless paper currencies have disappeared. Gold has never had a value of zero. Its intrinsic value is physical, its supply scarce and not arbitrarily expandable.
Fiat money, by contrast, is created by decree of central banks and loses purchasing power year after year through inflation. Tellingly, it is precisely the central banks that count among the world's largest gold holders and keep gold as a reserve. There is hardly a clearer sign than that. It is not for nothing that some regard gold as "God's money." With a 5 gram bar, you build your protection step by step: it is manageable as an investment, tradable worldwide, and quickly converted back into cash whenever you need liquidity.
Tax advantages at a glance
- Investment gold is exempt from VAT in Germany.
- Profits from the sale are generally tax-free after a holding period of at least one year.
- Bars from PAMP are internationally recognised and correspondingly in demand.
Design bar or standard bar?
A classic 5 gram gold bar without a design, such as the PAMP Fortuna, contains exactly the same amount of fine gold as the polar bear bar. What sets this bar apart are the design and the limited mintage. Both give it a collector's appeal that a standard bar lacks. In return, the premium over the pure material value is somewhat higher. Anyone wanting to buy as much gold as possible per euro should choose the standard bar. Anyone wishing to combine value preservation with enjoyment of the object, or looking for a special Christmas gift, is well advised to choose this bar. Compared to 1 gram bars, the 5 gram denomination has a further advantage: the minting costs are proportionally lower relative to the gold content.
PAMP: Swiss precision since 1977
PAMP stands for Produits Artistiques Métaux Précieux. The refinery in Castel San Pietro in Ticino is among the most renowned manufacturers worldwide and is accredited by the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA). Its minted bars are considered the benchmark in terms of craftsmanship, minting quality, and counterfeit protection.
A piece of childhood memory, minted in pure fine gold. At the same time, the bar is a solid building block for your long-term provision, one that you can one day pass on to the next generation.
