1 g fine gold

Luck has its signs.Good luck,as a bar of gold.

Gold bar “Viel Glück” on the card “Viel Glück”

On New Year cards around 1900, the wish was already in the picture: four-leaf clovers, ladybirds, horseshoes. These are the signs our pieces carry in gold and silver. A bar of fine gold, on a card with the wish “Viel Glück”, good luck.

The four-leaf clover

Four leaves, where three usually grow.

Clover normally has three leaflets, four only in very rare cases. The Botanic Gardens of the University of Bonn call the four-leaf clover a rare exception.

The disposition lies in the genes, as a plant breeder at the University of Georgia found. Whether the fourth leaf actually grows also depends on light and temperature.

The German dictionary Duden calls it Glücksklee: clover with an exceptionally four-part leaf, regarded as a lucky charm. The dictionary of the Brothers Grimm also lists the four-leaf clover as a Glücksblatt, a leaf of luck.

The lucky clover sold in pots, by the way, is a wood sorrel from southern Mexico that naturally has four leaves. It came to Europe in the 19th century.

“A four-leaf clover is a rarity. Lucky is the person who happens to find one.”
Museum der Kulturen, Basel

The lucky ladybird

Seven spots, a lucky number.

In German folk speech the ladybird is called Glückskäfer, the lucky beetle, as the German dictionary Duden records. The Etymological Dictionary of German calls ladybirds the best known and best loved beetles, regarded as a symbol of luck.

The classic lucky charm is the seven-spot ladybird, red with seven black spots. Seven has always been considered a lucky number, writes NABU, the German nature conservation union.

By the way, the spots do not reveal a ladybird’s age. Their number stays the same throughout its life of at most one year.

A seven-spot ladybird eats 100 to 150 aphids a day, its larva 400 to 600 before it pupates.

“As a lucky charm, the seven-spot ladybird … enjoys great popularity.”
NABU, Naturschutzbund Deutschland

The bar

Fine gold, on a card.

The bar reads “1 g GOLD 999,9”.

It comes from Valcambi in Balerna, Ticino.

Luck to give

A wish you keep.

At the turn of the year people give lucky charms. The New Year lucky charms we know today came about in the 19th century.

Many people do not want to throw their lucky charms away or pass them on, for fear the luck might go with them.

Whether lucky charms really bring luck may be left open, writes the Volkskundemuseum Wien. And it names what they are meant to say:

“Whoever gives a lucky charm wants to say: I care about you.”
Volkskundemuseum Wien

A gift for a birth or the new year, for instance: the bar comes on a blister card.

1g Gold Bar "Good Luck" (Valcambi) – minted fine gold as a solid gold investment

  • Investment goal: With gold bars, you can shield your wealth remarkably effectively against the creeping devaluation of money.
  • Preservation of value: As a solid store of value, this fine gold secures the real value of your savings and increases it step by step.
  • Protection: Especially when inflation, recession and spiraling national debt coincide, a physical gold investment stabilizes your asset mix.
  • Crisis protection: Especially small mini bars are excellently suited as a means of payment and exchange in an emergency.

The 1g gold bar "Good Luck" by Valcambi combines the finest Swiss minting quality with an endearing design. The bar is Brilliant Uncirculated, has a fineness of 999.9/1,000 and is well protected in a sealed blister card along with a certificate of authenticity. There is deliberately no face value – the value of this fine gold bar is based solely on the gram of fine gold it contains and moves with the gold price. This is precisely what makes it a fully-fledged investment gold product in a particularly handy denomination.

Swiss minting quality from Valcambi

The manufacturer is the Swiss refinery Valcambi Suisse, founded in 1961 and, as an LBMA Good Delivery refinery, one of the most renowned houses in the industry. The stamped assay mark "CHI – ESSAYEUR FONDEUR" identifies the bar as tested and cast – an unmistakable authenticity feature of every Valcambi gold bar. The country of origin is Switzerland, a quality seal that stands for trust in the global precious metals trade. Firmly fixed in its clear plastic capsule, the mint-fresh gold remains permanently protected from scratches and environmental influences.

As charming as the four-leaf clover with its dark red center appears – the "Good Luck" design is also available with a classic horseshoe motif – the real reason for buying is the substance. The design is the personal touch, the fine gold is the basis of value. Physical gold is humanity's oldest currency, a scarce good with limited supply and a proven inflation hedge. It has never had a value of zero, protects against loss of purchasing power and can be traded worldwide – qualities that no printed paper money can offer.

Gold has been shining for millennia – and will never lose its shine.

Why small gold bars are convincing

  • Low entry amount for gradually building wealth in gold.
  • High liquidity: tradable at any time and easily converted into cash.
  • Physical tangible asset with intrinsic value, independent of currency fluctuations.
  • Easily divisible and flexible – ideal for exchanging small amounts for real gold over the years.
  • Insured shipping and certificate of authenticity included – so the origin remains fully traceable.

Those aiming for larger quantities of fine gold at a lower premium tend to opt for heavier bars or classic gold coins such as the Krugerrand. The 1-gram bar, on the other hand, scores with its low capital outlay and fine divisibility: it is excellently suited for building up gold regularly and in small steps, without having to invest a large amount at once. Both paths lead to the same goal – a physical precious metals holding that supports your wealth.

Give the gift of a real gold investment

For a christening, birthday or wedding, with this bar you're not giving a mere decorative item, but recognized investment gold. Despite the personal occasion, what you're purchasing here is minted fine gold whose value is based on the gold price. Small amounts of gold add up over the years to a considerable fortune. Those who regularly purchase 1-gram bars from Valcambi build up a crisis-proof holding step by step – for themselves or as a value to be passed on from generation to generation. By the way: profits from the sale of physical gold are generally tax-free after a holding period of at least one year.
