Renoir "Young Girls at the Piano" – Impressionist art in pure fine gold

A masterpiece of French Impressionism, captured on a tiny, rectangular gold plate: The gold minting "Young Girls at the Piano" combines one of the most famous paintings by Pierre-Auguste Renoir with genuine, physical investment gold. Issued by the Republic of Chad and produced by the renowned Swiss manufacturer Valcambi, this piece is a particularly elegant way to invest in gold in small steps. The real reason to buy lies not in the design, but in the substance: minted fine gold, whose value is based on the gold price.

  • Design: Renoir's "Jeunes filles au piano" from 1892 – two girls at the piano, finely rendered in warm, golden-beige tones and soft, Impressionist brushstrokes.
  • Material & fineness: 1/1,000 oz fine gold, fineness 999/1,000 – the purest, highest-quality gold with intrinsic value.
  • Manufacturer: Precisely minted by Valcambi, one of the world's most respected precious metals mints from Switzerland.
  • Issuing country & face value: Republic of Chad, 3,000 CFA francs, official legal tender.
  • Format & mintage: Rectangular minting of 11 x 15.4 mm, set in a blister card, limited to 50,000 pieces, year of issue 2025, Brilliant Uncirculated new stock.

A world-class painting – captured in gold

The reverse shows Renoir's world-famous work "Young Girls at the Piano". The older girl with brown hair in a rust-red dress leans over the younger, blonde girl in a white dress with a blue bow – both absorbed in the sheet music on the piano. In the background, green curtain drapery, a vase of flowers on the instrument: a calm, domestic scene full of warmth, typical of Auguste Renoir. The painting was created in 1892 as a commissioned work for the French government for the Musée du Luxembourg in Paris. Renoir worked so meticulously on the composition that he created several versions; today they hang in the Musée d'Orsay, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Musée de l'Orangerie, among others.

The obverse bears the coat of arms of Chad – flanked by a goat and a lion – with the inscriptions "REPUBLIQUE DU TCHAD" (issuing country), "3000 FRANCS CFA" (face value), and "999/1000 FINE GOLD" (fineness). The minting is part of the Art & Culture series, which honors significant works of painting in fine gold.

Why physical gold is a wise decision

Gold is the world's oldest currency and a proven store of value for over 6,000 years. It has never had a value of zero because it possesses intrinsic value, and it protects your purchasing power when confidence in paper money fades. It is not without reason that central banks around the globe hold enormous gold reserves. As an inflation hedge and as crisis protection, physical precious metal belongs in every well-considered, broadly diversified portfolio.

  • Value preservation: The value is based on the fine gold content and moves with the gold price.
  • Building wealth in small steps: Small amounts of gold add up over the years to a considerable fortune.
  • High liquidity: Gold is tradable worldwide and can be resold at any time.
  • Tax advantage: Profits from the sale of physical gold are generally tax-free after a holding period of at least one year.

A genuine gold investment with a personal touch

Despite the artistic design, what you are acquiring here is full-fledged investment gold – not a mere art object, but minted fine gold with a clear investment character. This is precisely what makes the minting a special way to give real gold as a gift: for a christening, birthday, or wedding, you're not handing over a fleeting trinket, but an asset that endures. As an entry point into physical gold investment, this minting stands alongside many other gold coins and mini bars that make wealth building possible even with a manageable outlay. Gold has been shining for millennia – and will not lose its shine in the future either.
