Women with flower-adorned hats, men in summer attire, and among them bottles, glasses and fruit – every glance, every gesture tells of carefree life by the water. The original was created in 1880/81 and today counts among the highlights of the Phillips Collection in Washington, D.C. On the minting, a fine colour application captures this play of light with remarkable detail, complemented by the white signature „Renoir".
The obverse bears the coat of arms of Chad, flanked by an ibex and a lion, with the inscriptions „RÉPUBLIQUE DU TCHAD", the face value „3000 FRANCS CFA" as well as the indication „999/1000 FINE GOLD".
