The ounce has a face value of 1.5 Euro, the tenth ounce 15 Euro Cent, both with the crowned M.

The reverse shows the image of the Columnario, the Real de a Ocho, which according to the mint circulated around the world for two centuries.

The Golden Eagle appears on coins from Malta, in fine silver 999.9/1,000 with 5 Euro, and from Samoa, in silver 999/1,000 with 2 Dollars.

1 oz Gold Imperial Eagle 2024 – Spain's Majestic Ruler of the Skies in Pure Fine Gold

There are coins that are simply gold. And then there are those that tell a story. The 1 oz Gold Imperial Eagle 2024 unquestionably belongs to the second category. With a strictly limited mintage of just 12,000 pieces worldwide, this Spanish bird of prey soars into the display cases of discerning precious metals enthusiasts – and does so in a truly impressively dynamic fashion.

The Key Facts at a Glance

  • Material / Fineness: 999.9 pure fine gold – the highest purity as required for modern bullion coins. The fine weight is exactly one ounce (31.1 g gross weight).
  • Manufacturer: Struck by the venerable Spanish state mint FNMT (Fábrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre), identifiable by the mint mark "M" with a small crown.
  • Diameter: 37.20 mm
  • Face value: 1.5 Euro
  • Condition: Mint State (MS), safely stored in a protective coin capsule

An Eagle That Seems Within Reach

Anyone who looks at the obverse will almost catch their breath. The Imperial Eagle spreads its mighty wings, every feather individually crafted, its sharp gaze directed forward. The design is framed by the inscriptions "ÁGUILA" and "IMPERIAL", complemented by the face value of 1.5 Euro and the year of issue 2024. On the reverse, the Spanish royal coat of arms reigns with the inscription "FELIPE VI REY DE ESPAÑA", flanked by the legendary Pillars of Hercules bearing the proud motto "PLUS ULTRA". Below it, unmistakably: 1 ONZA 999,9 ORO.

Gold is humanity's oldest currency – and no other coin embodies this timeless value as powerfully as an eagle soaring freely above all crises.

Why the Imperial Eagle Belongs in Your Collection

This coin joins the popular Spanish animal series and is conceived as a classic bullion investment. Compared to classics such as the Vienna Philharmonic or the Krugerrand, the Imperial Eagle scores with one decisive advantage: its remarkably small mintage. While other gold coins are struck in the millions, only 12,000 pieces are available here. This scarcity lends the coin an additional collector's appeal beyond its pure gold value.

  1. Inflation hedge: Pure fine gold retains its intrinsic value when paper currencies begin to falter.
  2. Crisis protection: One ounce of gold is tradeable worldwide and independent of banks or governments.
  3. Collector's value: The low mintage makes the Imperial Eagle a coveted piece for enthusiasts.

Whether as the cornerstone of your retirement provision, as a tangible asset for uncertain times, or simply out of pure joy in exceptional minting artistry – the 1 oz Gold Imperial Eagle 2024 combines investment quality and collector's passion in a compelling way. Secure your piece while the small mintage still allows it. For what is rare, remains rare.
