1g Gold Bar Oxford Mint – British strength in pure fine gold
- Investment goal: With gold bars you protect your wealth exceptionally effectively against the creeping devaluation of money.
- Preservation of value: As a reliable store of value, this bar preserves the real equivalent value of your savings – and continues to build on it, gram by gram.
- Protection: Especially in phases of inflation, recession and rampant government debt, you stabilize your wealth with gold.
- Crisis protection: Small bars of this size are excellent as a means of payment or exchange when goods become scarce in turbulent times.
The 1g gold bar from Oxford Mint combines 1 gram of fine gold with a fineness of 999.9/1,000 with one of the most expressive designs of British minting tradition. It is minted and delivered Brilliant Uncirculated – securely fixed in a blister card that also serves as a certificate of authenticity and displays the bar's individual serial number. This gives you a compact, easily storable unit of physical gold whose value lies directly in the metal.
A design full of symbolic power
The obverse shows Britannia, the guardian goddess of the British Isles, with a Corinthian helmet, shield and trident, which she raises up to the radiant sun. At her feet a lion keeps watch, while a sailing ship crosses the sea in the background, framed by waves and roses. The raised, sculpturally worked relief embodies national identity, strength, resilience and unity – a design theme that goes back to the legendary Triple Unite coin from the year 1642. The reverse bears the weight and fineness details, the manufacturer's inscription and the mint mark. The design is the personal touch – the substance and the actual reason for buying remains the fine gold it contains.
Oxford Mint – tradition since the year 871
The history of the Oxford Mint dates back to the year 871, the first year of the reign of Alfred the Great. Under King Charles I, from 1642 onwards, the famous Oxford Crown and Triple Unite coins were created, which are still regarded as a symbol of British unity today. The modern bar design comes from Jody Clark, the designer of numerous British coin portraits. This bar is manufactured in Germany by LEV (Leipziger Edelmetallverarbeitung) – German minting quality meets British design heritage.
Investment gold for inflation protection
The actual value of this bar lies in the pure fine gold. It is based on the gold price and not on trust in a government or its fiat money. As an inflation hedge, gold has preserved purchasing power for thousands of years: it is the oldest currency in the world, tradable worldwide and highly liquid, meaning it can be converted back into cash at any time. Profits from a later sale are generally tax-free after a holding period of at least one year. Small units in particular are ideal for building wealth step by step – many 1-gram bars add up over the years to form a considerable gold holding.
Gold has never had a value of zero – it possesses an intrinsic, physical value that no printing press can create.
Classification & comparison
The Oxford Mint series is available in several sizes – from the 1-gram bar through 10 grams and 1 ounce up to the 50-gram bar, as well as a silver version of the Britannia. The smallest unit offers the lowest capital outlay and maximum divisibility: if needed, you can sell individual pieces instead of touching a larger bar. Larger denominations, on the other hand, score with a lower premium per gram. Anyone wishing to remain flexible and get started with manageable amounts makes a wise choice with the 1-gram format.
