1 oz Silver Perth Mint Swan ANDA Coin Show 2026 – a rainbow over the black swan

  • Strictly limited: worldwide mintage of only 2,500 pieces – there will never be more
  • Growth potential: very high value appreciation potential due to the strict limitation and the traditionally lively demand for Perth Mint show releases
  • Rarity for enthusiasts: exclusive special edition for the Perth Money Expo, not a regular year of issue of the bullion series
  • Design: fully coloured Australian black swan taking flight, with a rainbow over a bay and hilly landscape behind it – plus the special mint mark "P10"
  • Manufacturer: The Perth Mint, one of the world's most renowned mints since 1899
  • Country of origin: Australia – legal tender with a face value of 1 AUD
  • Features: 999.9 fine silver, Brilliant Uncirculated (BU), case with clear lid, certificate of authenticity

Some editions can be ordered all year round. This one cannot. The 1 oz Swan ANDA Coin Show 2026 was struck specifically for the Perth Money Expo, the collectors' meeting of the Australasian Numismatic Dealers Association, which took place on 5 and 6 September 2026 in South Perth. Anyone looking for a collector's coin that clearly stands out from the mass market holds a genuine rarity in their hands here.

Colour, feathers, rainbow: the 2026 design

The obverse shows the Australian black swan – Cygnus atratus – in the moment of taking flight. The wings are spread wide, the plumage shimmers from deep anthracite to the pearly white of the primary feathers, and the beak glows coral red. Below lies a tranquil bay, with green hills and scattered trees rising to the right. Above it all stretches a rainbow between soft banks of cloud. The inscription "2026 1OZ 9999 AUSTRALIAN SILVER SWAN" runs around the edge. The reverse was designed by Aleysha Howarth, whose initials "AH" appear discreetly within the design. This colouring is considerably more elaborate than that of the classic, uncoloured silver coins from Perth.

"P10" – ten years of the Australian Swan

One small detail makes this year of issue special: the mint mark "P10" stands for the tenth anniversary of the Swan series, which The Perth Mint launched in 2017. The swan is no ordinary animal – it is the heraldic symbol of Western Australia and the namesake of the Swan River, which is why it also appears in the mint's logo. The reverse bears the portrait of King Charles III designed by Dan Thorne, surrounded by the inscriptions "CHARLES III", "AUSTRALIA" and "1 DOLLAR".

The technical data at a glance

  • Diameter: 40.90 mm, reeded edge
  • Face value: 1 AUD, year of issue 2026, country of origin Australia
  • Condition: Brilliant Uncirculated (BU), coloured
  • Mintage: mintage of only 2,500 pieces worldwide

How does it compare?

Pure bullion coins such as the Krugerrand, the Canadian Maple Leaf or the Vienna Philharmonic are struck in the millions. Their advantage: tight spreads and good tradability at all times. Their disadvantage from a collector's point of view: scarcity practically never arises there. Here, the situation is exactly the opposite. The very low mintage of this show release is many times lower than that of the regular Australian Swan, which is already among the more tightly limited series from the Perth Mint. Combining both approaches – a broad base of standard coins plus selected rarities – covers two very different needs.

A mintage figure cannot be increased retroactively. Once struck, that number is final – and this is precisely where the appeal of such editions lies.

Silver: the metal of collectors and investors

Physical silver has accompanied humanity for thousands of years as a coinage metal and store of value. It is durable, retains its physical properties over generations, and, due to its industrial use – in electronics, solar technology, medical technology – possesses an intrinsic value that is traded worldwide as a raw material. Supply is limited, while demand from new technologies keeps growing. There is also a tax aspect that many collectors appreciate: profits from the sale of silver are generally tax-free, provided the minimum holding period of one year is observed. Anyone wishing to diversify their precious metal holdings will also find products for inflation protection as well as ready-made packages for crisis protection with us.

Who this silver coin is suited for

For collectors of Australian designs, for lovers of coloured strikes, and for anyone specifically assembling strictly limited pieces. The coin comes in a black case with a clear lid and certificate of authenticity – ready for the display cabinet, ready as a gift, ready for the next generation. However, with a limitation of this magnitude, the old collector's rule applies: those who hesitate will later watch as others pass the coin on.
