Four gold miniatures from Gabon – the reef in miniature format

The seahorse, clownfish, lionfish and blue tang all come from the Republic of Gabon's "Sea Creatures" series. Each of these gold coins carries 1/1,000 oz of 999 fine gold, measures 16.00 mm in diameter and bears a face value of 1,000 CFA francs. Mintage is capped at a maximum of 50,000 pieces. The leaping bottlenose dolphin above the surf and the attacking great white shark amid coral appear truly three-dimensional thanks to the contrast between mirror-like fields and satin-matte relief. Both editions are limited to just 1,000 pieces worldwide. The obverse, incidentally, brings together the entire series: shark, dolphin, sea turtle, seahorse and ray amid delicately worked coral.

Yaunati Turtle: two ounces of colour and patina

The heaviest piece in the collection comes from the Perth Mint in Australia: 2 ounces, 62.2 g of 999.9 fine silver, elaborately coloured and finished with an Antique Finish. The design draws on the dot and circle patterns of Aboriginal art – sea turtle, dolphins, jellyfish and rays merge into one ornamental overall image. Hammerhead shark in 999.9 fine gold

The 0.5-gram gold coin from the "World's Wildlife" series depicts a finely detailed hammerhead shark under the title "THE SHARK". It is struck by the Bavarian State Mint, the issuing country is the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and the face value is 10 francs.
