Karlsruhe hears a case about your inheritance.
The Federal Constitutional Court reviews the inheritance tax (case no. 1 BvF 1/23): allowances, tax rates, the valuation of your house. This tax has been struck down three times already – and each time it was rebuilt, never abolished.
The digital euro law is expected to be finalised.
A euro whose draft law provides that you may only hold a limited amount. The number is not in the law – it will be set later. Figures of 500 to 3,000 euros are being discussed.
Several laws come into force.
The highest top tax rate since 2007 is due to take effect, social security contributions reach a record level, and the end of the no-deduction pension after 45 years of contributions is under negotiation.
The EU cash regulation takes effect.
EU-wide: cash payments above 10,000 euros to merchants banned, ID requirement from 3,000 euros. Even cash deposits above 10,000 euros into your OWN account will then be reported automatically.
